Baseball Parks are known for great hot dogs, nachos and beer but their hamburgers aren’t talked about much because hamburgers take a special touch and don’t mass produce as easily as a hot dog.  While checking some sports news on Yahoo last night I came across the following burger insight and picture: A minor league baseball team in Michigan came up with this and apparently no one has eaten the whole thing yet.  This burger consists of the following ingredients: 1.67 pounds (rounded up) of grilled ground beef, topped with  nacho cheese, chili, salsa, Fritos (despite what’s in the photo), tomato and lettuce served (keep reading…)

Rumbi Island Grill’s Beach Burger So this was my second trip to Rumbi Island Grill after a surprisingly tasty visit a few months ago to experience their Kahuna Burger.  The Beach Burger is a more traditional burger which includes: USDA choice ground beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and homemade thousand island dressing.  The dressing is a nice touch and because they are all about quality the beef was pretty good as well.  It’s a pretty good burger but didn’t stand out in any way, shape or form.  Because it didn’t stand out, I give it an Average rating and (keep reading…)

Heber Utah is home of the Heber Creeper Railroad and Dairy Keen, a fun burger and shake place along Heber’s main street.  To get to Heber you need to head up Provo Canyon past Sundance, Deer Creek Reservoir and Midway.  Dairy Keen is a fun place with a toy train that runs along the ceiling rairoad tracks of the restaurant.  Their most famous burger is the “Train Burger” but I decided to save it for next time, wanting to instead try their Super Cheese Burger. If you like bacon and burgers than the Salt City Burger Co.’s Bacon Burger just might be up your alley.  The unique aspect that Salt City Burger Company brings to this bacon burger is the ground in bacon vs. the bacon strips on top that is typical of any bacon burger.  The thing I liked most about this burger was the hint of bacon rather than the “in-your-face” bacon.  The meat quality was fantastic and it took less than 5 minutes from ordering to having my fresh fries and burger….and this is a sit down restaurant….at lunch time! With their delicious homemade bread, Little Acorn is a personal favorite of mine.  It’s not a traditional burger place and even their Deluxe Burger Combo isn’t like anyone elses.  Served on top of your french fries the Deluxe Burger (please request the homemade bread whenever you order from Little Acorn) is good.  Little Acorn isn’t known for the quantity of meat or even the quality of the meat, they are known for the delicious bread that it comes in.  I’ve also really grown to appreciate the quiet atmosphere and made to order style of Little Acorn in Spanish Fork. Burger Supreme has long sat perched on the corner of one of the wackiest intersections in Provo, emitting its tantalizing odors to all passersby.  Back in the day, this burger joint was a popular feeding trough for any and all BYU students.  Last week, Burger Voice decided to put it to the test to see if this old school perch could hold its own against some of the new and trendy burger barns.  Nostalgia aside, this is a burger that starts strong, but ends heavy. If you enjoy fancy meals and live anywhere near Orem then you’ve probably been to Chef’s Table.  But did you realize that Chef’s Table now offers an Avacado and Bacon Hamburger on their lunch menu.  Priced at roughly $12 and served with some pretty good fries this is a good quality burger.  I tried this first experience without any ketchup or mustard and had it cooked medium/well.  For future reference I’ll say that I recommend adding ketchup and mustard as well as cooking it pure medium because the /well aspect of the meat dried it out a little.  Special Note: I (keep reading…)

Porter’s Place is located in Lehi Utah on historic Main Street.  By historic Main Street I mean, Porter’s Place has been there forever and ever and ever.  In fact, I’d venture to say that you’ll see more out-of-state license plates around Porter’s Place than anywhere else in Lehi.  Porter’s Place has a Buffalo Burger lunch special which costs about $7.00 with a buffalo burger, drink and fries.  So of course, my first trip to Porter’s Place for a burger was for the buffalo burger meal. We’ve all seen the Carl’s Jr. Teriyaki Burger commercials with a bikini clad woman eating the new Teriyaki Burger but tonight was my time to see how the Carl’s Jr. Teriyaki burger tastes when you aren’t wearing a bikini.  After ordering the new Teriyaki Burger I grabbed a Dr. Pepper and waited patiently for my first one. Within 5 minutes I was handed my order (order #77 if anyone cares) and was excited to see another oversized Six Dollar Burger waiting to be unwrapped.  As you can see from the picture, this was a good looking burger.  Still not exactly the same (keep reading…)
