I happened to be in Southern Utah this week and while in Blanding, Utah heard about a must experience burger offered at a Monticello Utah Restaurant called Lamplight Restaurant.  In fact, it was so recommended that we took the long way to Monticello in order to hit the 4:00pm opening of this Southern Utah gem. It’s Official…..Arby’s Burger is a hoax!  How can this be considered a burger?  No charbroiled goodness.  No beef patties. No Ketchup.  Arby’s Burger talk is a Burger Hoax!  You can even try this “RoastBurger” for free because they know it has to be free for burger lovers to consider it.

As many burger loves know, Fuddruckers is pretty darn good.  It’s one of my favorite burger restaurants and the fries are delicious.  The meat quality is always good and the fact that the toppings are all self-serve, how can you go wrong.  This trip was to the Fuddruckers in Orem, Utah on University Avenue.  Their burger of the day was a grass fed Elk Burger and I just had to try it. I’ve had elk roast, elk steak and elk burgers before and although gamey (as all wide animal meat is) it’s always good.  The Fuddruckers Elk Burger was phenomenol.  (keep reading…)

So with all the burgers I’ve been eating lately (gladly of course) I decided today to try an old favorite, the McDonalds Big Mac.  I’ll admit, this used to be my favorite meal on earth, but since it’s been years since I’ve eaten anything at McDonalds that wasn’t on their Value Menu, I was really looking forward to having a Big Mac. As always, the service was fast, the burger was delivered and the fries were crispy for the first 10 minutes.  Overall the Big Mac is still one of my favorite “Fast Food Burgers” because of the secret sauce (keep reading…)

Baseball Parks are known for great hot dogs, nachos and beer but their hamburgers aren’t talked about much because hamburgers take a special touch and don’t mass produce as easily as a hot dog.  While checking some sports news on Yahoo last night I came across the following burger insight and picture: A minor league baseball team in Michigan came up with this and apparently no one has eaten the whole thing yet.  This burger consists of the following ingredients: 1.67 pounds (rounded up) of grilled ground beef, topped with  nacho cheese, chili, salsa, Fritos (despite what’s in the photo), tomato and lettuce served (keep reading…)

Rumbi Island Grill’s Beach Burger So this was my second trip to Rumbi Island Grill after a surprisingly tasty visit a few months ago to experience their Kahuna Burger.  The Beach Burger is a more traditional burger which includes: USDA choice ground beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and homemade thousand island dressing.  The dressing is a nice touch and because they are all about quality the beef was pretty good as well.  It’s a pretty good burger but didn’t stand out in any way, shape or form.  Because it didn’t stand out, I give it an Average rating and (keep reading…)

Heber Utah is home of the Heber Creeper Railroad and Dairy Keen, a fun burger and shake place along Heber’s main street.  To get to Heber you need to head up Provo Canyon past Sundance, Deer Creek Reservoir and Midway.  Dairy Keen is a fun place with a toy train that runs along the ceiling rairoad tracks of the restaurant.  Their most famous burger is the “Train Burger” but I decided to save it for next time, wanting to instead try their Super Cheese Burger. If you like bacon and burgers than the Salt City Burger Co.’s Bacon Burger just might be up your alley.  The unique aspect that Salt City Burger Company brings to this bacon burger is the ground in bacon vs. the bacon strips on top that is typical of any bacon burger.  The thing I liked most about this burger was the hint of bacon rather than the “in-your-face” bacon.  The meat quality was fantastic and it took less than 5 minutes from ordering to having my fresh fries and burger….and this is a sit down restaurant….at lunch time! With their delicious homemade bread, Little Acorn is a personal favorite of mine.  It’s not a traditional burger place and even their Deluxe Burger Combo isn’t like anyone elses.  Served on top of your french fries the Deluxe Burger (please request the homemade bread whenever you order from Little Acorn) is good.  Little Acorn isn’t known for the quantity of meat or even the quality of the meat, they are known for the delicious bread that it comes in.  I’ve also really grown to appreciate the quiet atmosphere and made to order style of Little Acorn in Spanish Fork.
