Sean’s Smokehouse Cheeseburger Review

Sean’s Smokehouse BBQ in Saratoga Springs, Utah is a 5-month old BBQ restaurant with a growing fan base.  Sean (pronounced “seen”) is a lover of all things BBQ and after getting into competitions a few years ago, and doing quite well, he decided it was time for a restaurant and Sean’s Smokehouse was born.  The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with tables and chairs all made by Sean himself.  The smells are glorious and although the lines can be sometimes long, it was time for BurgerVoice.com to try the Sean’s Smokehouse cheeseburger.

For starters, the burger menu is quite nice.  One of their more popular burgers is the Fire Burger which comes loaded with pepperjack cheese and jalapenos.  I decided to go with their traditional cheeseburger to see how it compared to the rest of the places we’ve been reviewing.  The Sean’s Smokehouse cheeseburger is $7.29 and is a half pound of angus burger topped with shredded cheddar cheese, melted perfectly before being applied to the burger as a topping to give it the extra wholesome goodness that most sliced cheeses can’t come close to matching.  The cheeseburger also comes with a healthy and fresh combination of mayo, mustard, ketchup, onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles.  It was one messy cheeseburger but absolutely delicious.  I’ll admit I was a little surprised by how good this burger ended up being and the bun, an artisan tuscan bun from a bakery in Salt Lake City held up to all the messiness and complimented the burger perfectly.

In all honesty, this is one of the better burgers I’ve had and I think the combination of cheese, bun and messy freshness working so well together was the primary reason.  I went with the steak fries which were pretty good but the lack of fry sauce was disappointing.  There was a basket of ketchup packets which didn’t do well with the burger and fries because opening 15 packets of ketchup for an order of fries took so long that the fries were cold by the time there was enough ketchup.  That’s my only gripe about this burger adventure and even with the ketchup issue, the recommendation is to enjoy the big cheeseburger at Sean’s Smokehouse BBQ next time your in the area.  You won’t be disappointed.

  1. Thaks for the kind review. I thought it was very fair but of course I am biased. Come back one more time on me so we can get the one item fixed that you had issue with. We keep the our homemade fry sauce in the back or the bottles start to vanish! Like everything we do it’s different than what you get in Utah and totally homemade. Let us know and we are glad to take care of you…

  2. I hear you on the ketchup. They need to get some good GLASS bottles of Heinz.
